Where did you meet your “Boo”?

Earlier this month, I celebrated my 11th wedding anniversary. During our recent vacation in southern California, my “Boo” (my wife, that is) and I re-visited the place where we met 21 years ago. We were kids, in Los Angeles, with our families for a church convention.

Though some of the details of that fateful meeting are not crystal clear, I will always remember the place we met. The name of the hotel has changed a few times since we met, but it is still there—and our visit provoked a lot of great memories.

My mom and dad met nearly 40 years ago. I was able to capture HIS version of that meeting as a part of a video documentary that I did to celebrate his most recent birthday. (Click on the triangle to watch the video)

Write back (by clicking the comments tab below) and let me know when, where, and how you met YOUR Boo.

At college, the Univ of Maryland Eastern Shore.
We exchanged glances on a Sun afternoon, at the Pastor's mothers house. The rest is history.

You should have put a better picture of me on the site. If I hear his version of the story again on this tape again, I'll scream!!

Apparently, you don't see HIS version as the truth. So why don't you tell us YOUR version?

Trying to keep from laughing out loud in my office ;o) I think both stories are romantic. Brolee I didn't know you knew Carmen soo long ago!! Hopefully as time goes on I will be able to post a story of my own ;o)

In response to pastor, I think there is something to God having a hand in bringing two people together. Usually it seems as though it is a shot in the dark...but I believe there is some validity in it. Problems present themselves when people "imagine" that others are meant for them--when they aren't.

Thoughts? Comments??

Hey Mr. Lee, It's Ro from Jameson's, Of course I'm always in the restuarant so you know I met him here. He was an everyday customer I never noticed him( he would come in when he left from work so you know he looked filthy) but one day I saw him outside of his house and made sure he saw me. He would say I was stalking him but I see it the other way around because he was coming here everyday. But now I miss him everyday (He's a tractor trailer driver and he's on the rode for two weeks at a time). And everytime I see him it's like the first time. You know

Interesting you should ask this question. I am in the process of gathering "love stories" from married folx (some seasoned, some newlyweds). I would love to put these stories into a book form.

In response to your question, I met my husband in elementary school. His brother and I have been in the same grade since kindergarten, all my friends and I all had on a crush on my now hubby. We reconnected 8 years ago after my mother ran into him. Found out he was living in Queens (I was in Brooklyn at the time), gave him all of my contact info... now we're 6.5 years into marriage, 4 kids strong, and by the grace of God, growing stronger everyday.

Lee, what a great exchange. Victor's mother joined our church from another. She became the adult leader of our youth department and I was the youth leader. Her son remained at their old church. She introduced me and challenged me (since I was so "friendly") to pull him "outa there". We became great friends. He joined our church. He was a real cutey - so there were several of my friends that liked him. We remained friends, moved apart but kept contact. 20 years later we connected at his grandfather's funeral. And what a connection it was!!! It's been an interesting and pleasurable journey.
