Typically, a candidate will apply for a position and if the resume is appropriate, I’ll conduct an interview.
Even though I am interviewing them for a particular position, I will usually ask them, “What kind of work would you REALLY like to be doing?” And 9 times out of 10, the answer is different than the job they are interviewing for.
Are YOU doing the type of work you REALLY want to be doing?
If not, why not?

Yes Lee, - I really do love my job!
People are surprise when I tell them this, but the job I perform each and everyday fit my character so well, that I cannot believe they're actually paying me to do this.
I work at a Community College and one of my job is to give good customer service as I help students to get into school.
This job gives me the opportunity to talk to the young and old and to encourage them along the way.

NOT EVEN CLOSE...What I really want to do is write comedy. Why, you might ask. My short answer is because I'm funny. You should hear my editorial commentary about current events. On a more serious note, I enjoy helping people find their center, and laughter is one vessel to get them there.
It took awhile, but I have found the job that I love...Teaching children. Starting my day out with 26 children dancing and singing the "ABC Rock", listening to them say the "darndest things", and watching them bloom into little flowers, is not only a joy, but a constant reminder that we should all tap into that little child inside, see things a little lighter, laugh a little more, dance in the rain, and notice the butterfly as it flies by.
I am curious, so I am going to ask..
why do u ask possible hirees this question about what type of job they really want when u are hiring them for one particular position?
To answer anonymous' question, I ask candidates about their "ideal job" for a few reasons:
1. To guage their level of commitment to the role. When a person loves what they are doing, they are less likely to bounce around.
2. To guage their honesty. After doing this so many years, I can tell when candidates are just telling me what they think I want to hear. If they are not honest with me, they won't be honest with their colleagues nor the company's clients.
3. There may be other roles in the company that are a better fit for their backgrounds.
NO I AM NOT CAN YOU GET ME OUT OF HERE. PLEASE PLEASE
Yes Lee I do love my job!!!
well I really love my job I deal with senior citizens every day along with children, coming here every morning watching the old people smile and helping them with diffrent problems and getting the problems taken care of is wonderful.
Yes, I really do love my job. Having had many jobs - I've been working since 13, God has granted me the job that HE has called me to do and that is to teach children. Not just any children, but HIS children. Children who are lost, desolate, hopeless, angry, despondent, broken, etc. Having the opportunity to teach them 180 days out of the year provides me with the opportunity to lay hands on them, pray for them, rebuke evil spirits, love them, care for them, shelter them, mentor them, tell them about Jesus and HIS love - in short, God has provided me with the opportunity to make a difference! As much as you have done unto the least of these, you have done unto me.
