Can I get a Witness?

Over the summer, I watched a movie with my wife. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the movie (because it was a 'chick flick'). However, at the end of the film, there was a line that has really stuck with me.

One of the main characters stated that all people really want is a witness to their lives.

This statement resonated with me. On a planet of more than 6,500,000,000 people, it is a shame that so many people go through life lonely and/or alone. I am convinced that as human beings we really want our lives to have enough of an impact that at least one other person can testify that we existed on the planet.

I think about all of the funerals I've been to. Some are attended by thousands of people, while at other services, you would think they paid people to attend. I don't want my funeral to be held at a football stadium, but I would hope that there are enough witnesses to my life that we don't have to pay people to come.

I believe that when we are who we were created to be, and do what we were created to do, both heaven and earth have to stand up and testify, "(insert your name) was here!"

First I would like to say,
CHICK FLICK, CHICK FLICK.. what do u mean by chick flick..(lol)

Anyway, it is true that we all would like our lives to be validated whilst here on this earth, but most importantly, we should all strive for it to be validated in heaven by our Lord himself..

Lee,
I can't remember the name of the movie, either, but remember the quote (guess I wasn't so into it either)...anyway, it made me think, too...and I agree that once we are doing what we were sent to do, it's like everything else works itself out. My problem, now that I've finally realized my mission, is that I have to make it happen...its like I have to stop myself mid-step and turn the other way...but its the challenges that make it all worth while.
I sure am happy I found your blog.
bless
