Got Goals?

I've been teaching recently on Financial Stewardship as a part of my church's program, "100 Days to Wholeness".

The last class I taught was on Budgets. Essentially, budgets are plans that are to help a person, or a family, control where their resources go--instead of being controlled by their resources.

During the class, I made the following statement, and the more I think about it, the more it resonates with me:

If you don't have a goal, you don't need a plan.

I really believe that the reason people don't have well thought-out financial or career plans is that they really have no concrete financial or professional goals.

Yes, many of us have hopes and wishes, but those are much different than specific, measurable goals.

Set some goals...and then develop the plans to help you achieve those goals.
